Four Union Players Called up for Their Countries

Four players from 1. FC Union Berlin’s women’s team have been called up for the April 2025 international break.

The nominees

As an Union player, Tomke Schneider has been called up to the German U23 national team for the first time. The winter signing made her debut in the oldest junior women's team last autumn, making two appearances. Now she is travelling to Spain for the final matches of the U23 competition. In Murcia, the DFB team will face the Netherlands in the semi-finals and, depending on the outcome of that game, either Italy or Norway.

The Slovenian national team would like to build on the perfect start in the Nations League with Korina Janež. The ‘Zmajceki’ beat Greece and Ireland in the previous international break. In Group 2 of League B, Slovenia will now face Turkey twice, though they will be without Union's winger Fatma Sakar, due to injury.

Eleni Markou and Athanasia Moraitou have been recalled to the Greek national team. After two defeats at the start of the Nations League against Slovenia and Turkey, the team of national coach Alexandros Katikaridis are aiming to get their first points in the two games against Ireland.
