Fatma Sakar Called up for Turkey

1. FC Union Berlin’s women’s team will have to do without defender Fatma Sakar at the start of their season preparations on 8 July, as the 25-year-old has been called up for the Turkish national women's football team.

1. FC Union Berlin’s women’s team will have to do without defender Fatma Sakar at the start of their season preparations on 8 July, as the 25-year-old has been called up for the Turkish national women's football team.

International for the first time

This is the first call-up to the Turkish team for the Karlsruhe-born player. She has previously played for the DFB at youth level, making a total of 25 appearances from the U15 to the U19 level.

Selection coach Necla Güngör's team will be attending a training camp from 1 to 17 July and will also play two qualifying matches for the European Championship during this time.
