The Dutchman joined Union in the summer from Hamburg, but his time in Köpenick has been plagued by injury issues. The former Dutch U21 international hasn't had the opportunity to show his qualities in competitive action. With immediate effect, he will sign with the four-time Belgian champions.

"Rick needs game time after a long break due to injury. This opportunity is available to him in an attractive league. We wish Rick all the best and will keep an eye on his development," said Oliver Ruhnert, 1. FC Union Berlin's Managing Director for Professional Football.
