Players completed their first cold and wet session of the year, which included a circuit training session with passing exercises, dribbling and shots.
Fans are invited to the first public training session of the year tomorrow, Wednesday, 3 January 2024: It will take place at 10:30 a.m. on the training pitch at the Alte Försterei.
To complete this first week of the year, 1.FC Union Berlin will welcome Arminia Bielefeld next Saturday, 6 January 2024, for a test match. Tickets are still on sale online.
Players not available at the start of the year
The coaching team had to do without Robin Knoche at the start of the year due to illness. Robin Gosens completed further rehabilitation sessions away from the team and Danilho Doekhi also continued to work on his return by joining in some parts of team training today.
During next weeks, midfielder Aïssa Laïdouni will also be playing for Tunisia at the Africa Cup in the Ivory Coast and will therefore not be available for Union's head coach Nenad Bjelica.
