A visit to the training ground
Special opportunity:
Today, Tuesday, the Bundesliga team of 1. FC Union Berlin were once again delighted to welcome numerous onlookers to their summer training camp. Head coach Bo Svensson's team has been based in Neuruppin since Sunday and many Union players are taking advantage of the short journey to Brandenburg and the regular public training sessions to enjoy a short holiday trip with friends and family.
‘We are here because of our love’
It is a unique opportunity for the supporters of the Eisernen to experience the players of the Bundesliga team up close. The accessible atmosphere of the training camp is particularly appreciated. Many fans take the opportunity to get autographs, take photos or even have conversations with their favourite players. One mum explained during training: ‘We're here on behalf of our child, who unfortunately couldn't be here, but we're busy collecting autographs now.’
Working hard on the pitch and in the gym
In the morning on the football pitch, the afternoon session today was without the ball and away from the pitch. The Iron players met in groups in the Mark Brandenburg Resort gym and worked intensively on their athleticism. Well-developed muscles are also the basis for strong performances in football. However, muscle development alone is not enough; a tight and targeted training concept is essential. A balanced approach is important, as too much muscle mass can restrict the mobility required for football. The focus of the exercises was therefore on being able to assert oneself better in duels, sprinting faster, jumping higher and shooting more powerfully. Strengthening the muscles also helps to prevent injuries. The session included various exercises for the upper body and legs, aimed at building muscle strength as well as endurance.
Quote of the day: ‘Leave me alone, I'm stupid!’ - An angler on the jetty next to the team hotel, who only found his bait again when his friend pointed it out.
