After their assured promotion to the 2. Bundesliga, the women's team of 1. FC Union Berlin will return to the pitch after a break of just a few weeks. Ailien Poese's team will start their preparations from 8. July with the following dates.

Start at the beginning of July - first competitive match in mid-August

The start of training on 8 July, traditionally consisting of sporting and medical tests, will be followed by two weeks of training sessions and a first friendly against the second team of VfL Wolfsburg (21. July).

During the subsequent short trip to Bad Saarow (23. – 26. July), Union will test themselves once more against quality opposition when, on 24. July, they meet the current Polish champions, Pogoń Szczecin.

Then, back home in Berlin, two further friendlies against Bundesliga clubs will follow before the start of the DFB Pokal on… before Poese’s squad host Werder Bremen on 4. August and SGS Essen six days later in the final games of pre-season.
