Union welcome Würzburger Kickers

1. FC Union Berlin's first pre-season game at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei will see Urs Fischer's men go up against promoted 2.Bundesliga outfit Würzburger Kickers.

Wednesday's 15:00 kick-off is LIVE and free on the club's TV channel, AFTV.

The clubs met previously in the 2.Bundesliga in 2017 when Jens Keller was the head coach of Union. Goals from Sebastian Polter and Damir Kreilach secured a comfortable 2-0 win for the Köpenick club. Fischer's men ran out 3-1 winners at Energie Cottbus on Saturday as preparations for the Bundesliga season got underway.

"Würzburg got up to second in the 2.Bundesliga last season. In half of their games they went off the pitch as winners, which is a remarkable achievement. Michael Schiele's team plays offensively and is aggressive in their pressing. We have prepared ourselves for this task and will use the test to continue working on our game," said the Union head coach.
