Union welcome Aue on matchday 1
Fixture Schedule:
The German Football League (DFL) have confirmed the fixture schedule for the 2018/19 2.Bundesliga season.
1. FC Union Berlin will open the league campaign at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei against Erzgebirge Aue. This match will be played between Friday August 3 and Monday August 6.
The first test for Urs Fischer’s team on the road is against relegated Bundesliga side 1. FC Köln before the league schedule is interrupted for Union’s trip to Carl Zeiss Jena in the first round of the DFB Pokal on Sunday August 19.
A home clash with FC St Pauli, a trip to SV Sandhausen and a meeting with Duisburg in Berlin make up Union’s first five league games of the 2018/19 campaign.
Here are some further important dates:
— 1. FC Union Berlin meets newly-promoted SC Paderborn on matchday 10.
— Union head to the Volksparkstadion to meet Hamburg on matchday 14 with the return clash at the Alte Försterei pencilled in for MD31 at the end of April.
— The first-half of the season ends on 21-23 December away to Erzgebirge Aue with the second half kicking off on 29-31 January against 1. FC Köln at home.
— The final game of the season for Union is at home to VfL Bochum on matchday 34
