Union travel to training camp without Subotic

1. FC Union Berlin will travel to the pre-season training camp in Bad Wörishofen without central defender Neven Subotic. After a successful season in the Bundesliga, Subotic is looking for future challenges with Union's top-flight status secured ahead of schedule.

"Staying in the Bundesliga with Union was the same as winning the German championship," said Subotic after last season's success. "I'm glad to have played my part."

"Neven's experience on the road to staying up has helped us enormously and fulfilled our expectations. He is now looking for a new goal and we are supporting him in accordance with our agreement," said Oliver Ruhnert, Director of Professional Football at 1. FC Union Berlin.

Neven Subotic has been released from the training camp to talk to other clubs and will continue to prepare for the new season with individual training.
