Straight back from a (hopefully successful) day out in Gelsenkirchen, Sunday (20.08.2022), will give all red-eyed Union members a chance to stick their oars in and all are welcome. Eiserne V.I.R.U.S  invites you to the Grünau regatta course for their 19^th traditional dragon boat race.

The gates will open for participants as early as 8:30am. Spectators are expected to begin arriving in time to see the start of the racing at 10am.

 As well as the sporting competition there will also be packed supporting programme so all non-paddlers can get their money’s worth.

And for the first time the club’s foundation, UNION VEREINT: Shulter an Shulter, will be on site with its donation exchange. Both new and used fan articles will be on sale with proceeds going to the foundation, as well as offering an opportunity to buy a ticket for the big raffle at 1pm. The drawing of the main prizes is scheduled for 4:30pm.

The Eiserne Botschafter will have a creative stall and, as always, food and drink will be available. The Zeughaus-on-wheels will also be there, offering Union merch, from bucket hats to adidas kits.

Please note: Access is only via Adlergestell / Rabindranath-Tagore-Straße. The sports promenade is closed.

There are very few parking spaces available due to construction work. Teams can begin dropping off materials on site on Friday between 10 am and 3 pm. Further information on this and other details can be found on the V.I.R.U.S website.
