Union agree 3-year Top Sponsor deal with Total
Extended Partnership:
1. FC Union Berlin and TOTAL Deutschland GmbH have been closely connected since 2009. Most recently, in June 2011, with the inauguration of the Union-branded gas station – the first in Berlin – the partnership has been clearly visible outside of the Stadion An der Alten Försterei.
Ten joint and very successful years later, TOTAL Deutschland GmbH has evolved into a multi-energy company and operates under the name TotalEnergies, while Union is competing in the Bundesliga for the third time in a row. At the start of the new season, both sides agreed to expand their long-standing partnership. In addition to its existing commitment as a top sponsor, TotalEnergies will also take over the premium partnership of the sports sponsorship of 1. FC Union Berlin.
The Marketing & Services subsidiary of TotalEnergies in Germany is also expanding their previous commitment to Union’s youth development. Until now, TotalEnergies donated to the youth department for every litre the club filled up with the company’s special fuel card.
“We’re really looking forward to continuing our partnership with 1. FC Union Berlin over the next three seasons. We share many common values with this special and traditional football club from Berlin, such as passion, solidarity and respect for others," said Christian Cabrol, Managing Director for Germany at TotalEnergies. ”As a premium partner for the club, in the future we not only want to continue to cheer along at the games and celebrate sporting successes together, but also make an active contribution to promoting health and exercise in schools and daycare centres.”
“The long-standing partnership has reached a new level with this contract extension and what’s included in it. We are very pleased about the trust placed in us and the conviction to continue the successful path together with us in the coming years,” said Dirk Zingler, 1. FC Union Berlin’s president.
