Third Round of the Cup
Union to play Wolfsburg:
Following the draw for the third round in the DFB Cup this Sunday evening, 1. FC Union Berlin will play at home in the stadium An der Alten Försterei against Vfl Wolfsburg. It will be the seciond home fixture in a row, following last week's victory over Heidenheim.
Alongside Oliver Bierhoff, current director of the German national football team, Maria Asnaimer from TuS Germania Lohauserholz-Daberg was in action drawing the clubs.
"Games under the floodlights of the Alte Försterei are always a little special," commented Oliver Ruhnert, managing director of professional football at 1. FC Union Berlin, on the draw. "We take the Cup very seriously, and will want to be in the draw for the quarter-finals," he said.
The next round of the DFB Pokal will take place on 31st of January and the 1st of February 2023, and one week later on the 7th and 8th of February 2023, with the exact dates to be announced in the coming days.
