Sheraldo Becker's contract at 1. FC Union Berlin has been given an extension. The 27-year-old will run out in the colours of the Köpenick club for the 2022/23 season.

It hasn't taken Becker long to show his talents in Germany following his transfer from ADO Den Haag in 2019. Two assists arrived as early as the first six matches including our famous first Bundesliga win, a 3-1 triumph at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei against Borussia Dortmund. His first season had highs and lows due to injury and the supporters didn't the opportunity to see the real Becker until 2020/21 and beyond. In 40 competitive games last season, Becker scored six goals and set up nine.

"I really feel very comfortable at Union," said Becker, who was the second fastest player in the entire Bundesliga last season. "We have achieved incredible things together in recent years, and together with the club and the team, I have also developed further. I look forward to continuing to work together."

"It is a good sign that we have been able to retain a key player like Sheraldo for longer. We are happy to continue working with him and to have his individual quality in attack," added Oliver Ruhnert, 1. FC Union Berlin's Managing Director for Professional Football.
