In front of around 1400 spectators, and in great conditions, Union Berlin were in control from the first whistle against the seventh-tier opponents. Berkan Taz put the Köpenick side ahead after 10 minutes before the home side enjoyed a decent spell of pressure, which brought the best out of U19 keeper Lennart Moser. First-team regulars Philipp Hosiner and Marc Torrejon helped add extra digits to the scoreline with Taz netting to make it five before the half-time break.
Five changes were made at half time as Andre Hofschneider's side handed game time around the travelling squad. Substitute Grischa Prömel popped up with the sixth on 47 minutes, but Union had to wait until 71 minutes before Marcel Hartel finished off from close range. Taz capped off an impressive performance with his hat trick goal, while there was a cameo for U19 striker Jannes Werner who bagged a double in first-team colours.
