Preparation starts in Bad Wörishofen
Training Diary:
Today (Tuesday) was the first full day of training at the second pre-season camp of the summer in Bad Wörishofen, west of Munich. The squad joined up for breakfast at 10am before slowly filtering out on to the training pitch for the first session of the day. With the warm-up completed, the session focused on coordination, pressing and technique under pressure. Urs Fischer's first-team squad worked intensively on one pitch while Anthony Ujah, Max Kruse and Akaki Gogia worked on individual rehab programmes with fitness coach Chris Busse.
In between the sessions, the players had freedom to do a number of things. However, some went up to the sun terrace for some press interviews. In Bad Wörishofen, pleasant sunny weather was replaced by heavy rain at midday but the bad weather cleared up in time for the second session. Athletic coach Martin Krüger prepared some sprint exercises, while there was a fun, playful nature to the afternoon's work with some small-sided games and finishing drills.
Urs Fischer's squad will have a double session day tomorrow, with training starting at 10.30 and 16.30 at the team base.
