Pre-Season Schedule: Cup Anniversary and Friendlies

After a successful matchday 34 and the win over Dresden last Sunday, the first team players stopped training, but still had three games to go this week before taking off for their well-deserved summer break.

Yesterday, the team beat SV HANSE Neubrandenburg 11-0, while SV Tasmania Berlin is getting ready for their friendly against 1. FC Union Berlin tomorrow evening at Werner-Seelenbinder-Sportpark. The final match of the three-game-week marks the 40th anniversary of Türkiyemspor Berlin on Sunday.

Equipped with individual regeneration and preparation plans, the Union-players are on their own from this coming Monday until June 25, 2018, when they have to report to Berliner Charité for their pre-season check-up.

Next up is a short four-day training camp in Bad Saarow (Brandenburg), before the official season kick-off on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei. With a friendly against FC Carl Zeiss Jena, the club will honour the 50th anniversary of Union’s FDGB-Cup-win over heavily favoured Jena on June 9, 1968.

Three days later, the team from Köpenick travels to Herzberg (Brandenburg) to play Chemnitzer FC. On Sunday, July 8, 2018, the squad heads into its second training camp, this time to Klosterpforte (North Rhine-Westphalia), where they will play a side first before one against Norwich City (July 17, 2018).

The final match of the summer break brings Union to the motherland of football – Saturday, July 28, 2018, Union will play second division Queens Park Rangers, the former club of Sebastian Polter. The 2.Bundesliga starts the following week.

Information regarding ticket sales for all pre-season matchups will be communicated within the coming days.
