Power training and video analysis
Training camp Campoamor - Day 1:
At about 7 a.m. this morning, the alarm clocks in Campoamor rang - the first day at the training camp was about to start. After a rich breakfast, the team walked to the nearby training ground, where their fans were already waiting.
The first session of the winter training camp 2020 started at 9:45 a.m. with warming up and stretching exercises. Florian Hübner could not take part, he had an infection and was given absolute rest to get back on track as soon as possible. Suleiman Abdullahi was also absent due to knee problems. While the majority of the team worked with the ball, Grischa Prömel and Keven Schlotterbeck did an individual training program on the side of the training ground.
At around 10:30 a.m., Urs Fischer kicked off a 30-minute training game which gave the guys a little foretaste of the two test games on Monday. After a short water break, the next exercises were about to start. The team worked on standard situations, practicing passes and shots on goal.
After each player did several turns, another short game kicked off. This time on the small field with play stations on the outside positions, Prömel and Schlotterbeck went for a run in the meantime.
The extensive training ended with several rounds of running for all field players around the training ground. Meanwhile, Michael Gspurning challenged his keepers to a few parades.
At 12:11 p.m., Rafal Giekiewicz and Moritz Nicolas were the last players to leave the field. The first session of the 2020 winter training camp ended successfully after almost two and a half hours.
The players went back to the hotel, exhausted but in good mood, where the physio and medical team was already waiting for them.
Freshly showered the team met for lunch at 12:45 p.m. for lunch. Afterwards they had a well-deserved break, which was used for media appointments, treatments and some surely went for an afternoon nap.
The late afternoon was used for video analysis to prepare for tomorrow's friendly matches, followed by dinner.
Tomorrow the first game against OH Leuven at the training ground in Campoamor starts at 11 a.m. The second test against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise kicks off at 4 p.m.
