Keita Endo to the Japanese capital
Loan Deal With an Option
Midfielder Keita Endo has joined FC Tokyo on loan, return to his home country of Japan, from where he moved to 1. FC Union Berlin in the summer of 2020. The two-time Japanese international made a total of 21 appearances for Union, scoring one goal.
In the past one and a half years, Endo has played for Eintracht Braunschweig - also on loan - where he made 27 appearances. This loan deal was terminated by all parties involved at the end of last year.
"Keita's wish for the loan with the likelihood of a full return to Japan is the right solution for all sides," commented Union's director of professional football, Oliver Ruhnert, on the deal. "FC Tokyo are getting a highly motivated player, and we have been offered a very good option in both economic and sporting terms. Unfortunately, he didn't make the final breakthrough in Germany, but Keita always remained positive. We wish him all the best for his future."
