Keita Endo signs for 1. FC Union Berlin

1. FC Union Berlin have completed their third summer signing with Japanese attacking-midfielder Keita Endo joining on a season-long loan with the option to buy.

The left-sided attacker will swap Yokohama for Berlin and becomes the latest in a long line of Japanese players to move to Germany. The 22-year-old has featured 139 times for Yokohama F. Marinos in the J-League, Cup and the Asian Champions League. With 16 goals and 22 assists to his name, Endo has knocked on the door of the national team, earning his debut with Japan in December against China.

"I'm very proud to come into the Bundesliga and to be able to show my skills in one of the best leagues in the world. I've heard a lot of good things from the club and the city and I'm looking forward to playing at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei soon," said the two-time capped Endo on completing his transfer to Union.

"We've been watching Keita Endo for a long time and we're happy that he has decided to come to Köpenick. Keita is a very interesting player with great skills who can help us with his speed and technique. Now it's important to integrate him as quickly as possible and to make his arrival in Germany as easy as possible so that he can demonstrate his full potential in the Bundesliga," said Oliver Ruhnert, Union's Director for Professional Football.
