1. FC Union Berlin will ramp up pre-season preparations with a friendly against Dutch giants Ajax on Sunday August 30 at 13:00.

The 2018-19 UEFA Champions League semi-finalists will present a greater challenge to the Bundesliga club than faced in pre-season so far. Ajax's 2019-20 campaign was cut short after 25 games due to the outbreak of COVID-19. The Dutch FA did not award the championship despite Erik ten Haag's side being joint-top of the Eredivisie with AZ Alkmaar.

Sunday's match at the Johan-Cruyff-Arena will be played behind closed doors — without supporters and media representatives.

The match will be shown live on Sport1 in Germany.
