Fischer's side face Dynamo Dresden
Union prepare at home:
1. FC Union Berlin are in action on Saturday afternoon when third-tier Dynamo Dresden come to the Stadion An der Alten Försterei for the third warm-up match of the new season.
Urs Fischer's side ran out 2-0 winners in midweek against Würzburger Kickers and will take on a new-look Dresden side who have seen a summer of transformation following their relegation. Saturday's match will be available on live stream via RBB, the regional public broadcaster of Berlin and Brandenburg.
1. FC Union Berlin's last meeting with Dynamo Dresden was in October of our promotion-winning 2.Bundesliga campaign, two years ago. Despite Jannis Nikolaou's early red card, Fischer's team couldn't break down their East German rivals and both clubs walked away with a point each. Overall, there's been 34 meetings in Berlin-Köpenick and Dresden have come away with 10 victories to Union's eight.
"Dynamo Dresden are always a demanding and ambitious opponent. For us, it will be about biting our teeth and showing mentality after an intensive week of training," said coach Fischer.
