Derby to start the 2022/23 season
Bundesliga Fixtures:
1. FC Union Berlin will start the 2022/23 Bundesliga season with a home derby against Hertha Berlin.
Union's city rivals from Charlottenburg will make the trip to the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on the weekend of August 6 or 7. A week later, Union head to Mainz for the first away encounter of the new campaign before a home encounter against DFB Pokal winners RB Leipzig.
Urs Fischer's side will welcome the German champions Bayern Munich to the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on the weekend of September 2. This comes shortly before Union embark on another adventure in European competition, starting with the UEFA Europa League group stages — the first matchday planned for Thursday September 8.
The Bundesliga takes a pause after 11-13 November due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Union's final game of the calendar year is away to Freiburg. The season will restart from 20-22 January with a home match against Hoffenheim.
Union's second derby of the campaign is penciled in for MD18 on 27-29 January, 2023.
The season will conclude at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on Sunday May 27 with Werder Bremen making the trip to Köpenick.
