Day 9 – Intense Preparations for tomorrows friendly
Training Diary:
Today’s now 30-year-old birthday boy Christoph Schösswendter looked pleasantly surprised when a big red strawberry cake was brought into the lunch room, as manager Urs Fischer pushed his team through two high-paced training sessions on day 9 of training camp in Klosterpforte.
The team used the morning session on pitch 3 to practice possession play, at first without and later with goals. In the afternoon, back on the main pitches 1 and 2 right behind the teams’ hotel, Fischer and the rest of the coaching staff increased the intensity further. They split the players up into two groups, one practicing set pieces and the other working on short, quick passes. During the remaining time, the players showed everything they got in small- and large-sided games across the whole field. Just when they thought they were done, strength and conditioning coach Martin Krüger asked the players to join him for shuttle runs, pushing them to their limits.
Norwich City Football Club: A story of ups and downs

Over the next two years, they went straight back into Premier League, since the summer of 2016 they are back in the second-tier Championship.
