Day 10 – Relaxed morning practice and friendly-win
Training Diary:
The training camp in Klosterpforte is almost over, but on day 10 the Union players looked forward to a special highlight of this year’s preseason: a friendly match against Norwich City Football Club.
During the morning session, manager Urs Fischer and his colleagues focused on relaxation rather than exhaustion in advance of tonight’s game. Strength and conditioning coach Martin Krüger warmed the players up with some stretching exercises, after which the team split up into smaller groups. The goalkeepers and some of the field players practiced set pieces with assistant coach Sebastian Bönig, others worked on their first touches. Felix Kroos, Joshua Mees and Florian Hübner, who were all out for the game with light injuries, did some rehabilitation exercises with coach Christopher Busse.
After lunch break, the team took their bus to “Stadion Laumeskamp” in Delbrueck, a quick 40-minute-drive from the hotel. They went on to beat Norwich City FC 2-1, the full match report is available here.
