Cedric Teuchert signs for Hannover

The 24-year-old striker Cedric Teuchert has left 1. FC Union Berlin after 18 months in Köpenick to join 2. Bundesliga team Hannover.

Following spells at Nürnberg and Schalke, Teuchert arrived at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei to prove his ability in the top division. Teuchert featured 26 times and scored three goals in the 2020/21 campaign. A year ago, Teuchert scored an 88th-minute winner at home to Bayer Leverkusen to secure three important points in the Bundesliga. His contribution extended into European competitions as he set up a goal in the UEFA Europa Conference League play-off against KuPS.

"The last one and a half years in Berlin weren't always easy for me on the football side, but I always felt comfortable at Union. I will always look positively on my time here and will be back in Berlin to watch on," said Cedric Teuchert on his departure from the club.

"Cedric has always been an important part of the squad and played a major role in the success of our team, especially last season. Of course he wants more playing time and I'm sure that he will get it in Hannover. We would like to thank him and wish him all the best for the future, both in sport and in his private life," said Oliver Ruhnert, 1. FC Union Berlin Managing Director of Professional Football.
