Berkan Taz to spend the season on loan at Cottbus

1. FC Union Berlin's young attacking-midfielder Berkan Taz will spent the coming season at fourth-tier side Energie Cottbus.

Versatile and skilful, Taz has developed through Union's own academy. He was invited to join the summer training camp in 2017 and was handed his debut in January in the away defeat to FC St. Pauli. The 20-year-old now has the opportunity for regular playing time at Cottbus, who were relegated from the third division.

"For me, Cottbus is the logical next step in my development. It is important for me to be on the pitch regularly, to gain experience and to develop on a consistent basis. Peter Wollitz convinced me in the personal talks that Energie Cottbus will offer me exactly these opportunities. I would like to take this opportunity and will do everything in my power to be successful with the team in the future," said Taz.

"Berkan is a young player with great potential. We want him to have the opportunity to develop his skills and we're sure a loan move to Cottbus is the right chance to do this," added Oliver Ruhnert, 1. FC Union Berlin's Director for Professional Football.
