Berkan Taz pens longer contract with 1. FC Union Berlin
New deal:
Berkan Taz has signed a new three-year-deal with 1. FC Union Berlin, which will run until 2021.
The 20-year-old attacker, who has come through the club's youth programme, made his league debut away at FC St. Pauli in February. Taz has been part of Urs Fischer's squad at first-team level, but made an impressive contribution to securing Union's Bundesliga status with the U19s.
"I'm very happy about the contract extension and the trust the club has given to me," said Taz, both in Berlin with Turkish roots. "We have a strong team on and off the pitch. I feel very comfortable here at Union and I'll do everything in my power to continue to develop myself and contribute to the team."
"Berkan Taz has made considerable progress as a player in the last 18 months. We are very satisfied with his career and are delighted that he will continue to use his talent and determination to perform for Union in the future," added Oliver Ruhnert, Managing Director for Professional Football.
The contract is valid for both Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga competitions.
