As is customary the Berlin Football Association (BFV) held a vote in eight footballing categories to mark the end of the season, and Union’s top scorer Sheraldo Becker came out on top, winning Professional Footballer of the year for 2022/23.

The Suriname international is now entering his fifth season in the capital, where only captain Christopher Trimmel and goalkeeper Jakob Busk have been under contract for longer.

Among the top eight, Becker was joined by fellow Union players Rani Khedira (2nd place), Frederik Rönnow (3rd), Robin Knoche (5th) and Kevin Behrens (6th).

The winners of the other categories "Berlin Female Footballer of the Season" and "Berlin Amateur Footballer of the Season" will be announced next Monday, 10 July 2023.
