Attacker Sheraldo Becker joins 1. FC Union Berlin
Sheraldo signs:
Dutch winger Sheraldo Becker is the latest addition to 1. FC Union Berlin's squad ahead of the Bundesliga campaign in August. The 24-year-old has signed a three-year-deal until June 2022 following his move from ADO Den Haag.
Becker's career started at Ajax and he developed through one of the most famous academies in European football. In 2013/14, he was promoted to the first-team but looked to find regular playing time elsewhere. Becker spent two years at PEC Zwolle before returning to Amsterdam. His showings in the Eredivisie convinced ADO Den Haag in 2016 and he has since established himself as a regular at the club. Last season, scored seven times in 33 appearances, setting up another 10 goals.
"It's a big step for me to move to Germany. I'm really looking forward to Union, especially as it's my first stop abroad as a professional footballer. Now it's time for me to settle in well with the team and make my contribution to the club's first Bundesliga season," said Becker on arrival in Köpenick.
"In the shape of Sheraldo Becker, we have signed an excellently trained player who, despite his relatively young age, has already gained a lot of experience at a high level. He has just finished a really good season in the Eredivisie and I'm sure that he will also prove his skills in the Bundesliga," said Oliver Ruhnert, 1. FC Union Berlin's Director for Professional Football.
The 24-year-old's contract at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei is valid for both Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga competitions.
