Strong tackling and overview

The 26-year-old has been a part of Union's Bundesliga team since the summer of 2023 and has made 32 games appearances for them over the past two seasons. In addition to 24 Bundesliga games, the Czech international also made two appearances in the DFB Pokal and six in the UEFA Champions League. During his time in Köpenick, he memorably followed up an assist against SC Braga with a goal in the sixth and final group game against Real Madrid to level the scores at 2-2.

For now, the adaptable right-footer will be hunting for the ball in La Liga.

"We want to continue to give Alex the opportunity to gain match practice in order to develop further,” said Horst heldt, Union’s director of men’s professional football, on the deal. “At Espanyol, he will play at a high level and can demonstrate his skills. We hope Alex can make the most of his time in Spain and wish him all the best for the season."
