Union receives Bundesliga licence for 2021/22
With no conditions:
1. FC Union Berlin have been granted the right to play in next season's Bundesliga or 2.Bundesliga by the governing league body, the DFL. The licence to play was given to Union without any extra conditions.
1. FC Union Berlin's Managing Director for Licensing Oskar Kosche said: "I would like to express my gratitude to all club partners, sponsors and employees. We were able to get this outcome due to the commitment of everyone involved, particularly during a pandemic."
For next season, 49 clubs have applied for a licence to play in the first or second division in Germany and in the first stage of the process, no club was denied a licence. Some of those clubs will have conditions to fulfill by the summer in order to receive permission to play.
