Support your Union stars in Berlin Footballer of the Year awards

Berlin's Regional Football Association have combined with LOTTO Berlin & magazine Fußball-Woche to crown their Footballers of the Year for the recently-concluded 2019/20 season.

There are 32 nominations across different categories including amateur football, amateur coach, women's footballer and men's footballer.

Four 1. FC Union Berlin players have been nominated for the men's professional footballer award. Rafal Gikiewicz won the award in 2019 and is up for the 2020 prize following a strong Bundesliga campaign in Köpenick. Captain Christopher Trimmel, striker Sebastian Andersson and Marius Bülter are also in contention.

Two 1. FC Union Berlin women's players are looking to win the award this year – defender Nathalie Götz and striker Jenny Trommer. Last year's prize was won by Monique Eichhorn, 1. FC Union Berlin's women's team goalkeeper.

Voting takes place online up to and including Friday August 7 (midnight). There are plenty of prizes up for grabs for those who vote, including five vouchers worth 100 euros for the Union-Zeughaus.
