Fans gather for 17th Weihnachtssingen
Festive Atmosphere:
The Stadion An der Alten Försterei swapped the traditional football atmosphere for our festive Christmas carols, which ran for the 17th year in a row on Monday.
More than 28,500 spectators arrived in Köpenick for the special event and celebrated the start of the festive season with candles and a range of carols.
Christian Arbeit opened the event and conducted proceedings throughout, aptly supported by the Emmy-Nöther-Gymnasium choir from the local area. After a thunderous 'Eisern Union' introduction to the event, the crowd mixed between traditional Christmas songs and some favourite 1. FC Union Berlin chants.
