Union prepare to face Hannover

On Saturday, 1. FC Union Berlin will take on Hannover 96 in the U19 Bundesliga. Following the 2-2 draw at home to TSV Havelse, the Köpenick club face opposition once more from Lower Saxony as they look to maintain a clear gap to the relegation zone.

Union's performance in the 2-2 draw was dominant and Toni Mandl's side were struck against the run of play on two occasions. Daniel Eidtner scored shortly after the restart and then Laurenz Dehl scored in the final minutes to spare Union's blushes on the day.

"The team will need to continue their second half performance in order to take something from Hannover," said coach Mandl. "The player showed their attitude and believed in their own abilities until the very end."

The Reds started the new year with two wins and have maintained a very solid home record of six wins from eight games. "The players need to be active and create goalscoring chances," added the Union boss.

Saturday's kick-off is 14:00 at the stadium of Hannover 96.
