Union hosts first-ever GGC Youngster Cup

1. FC Union Berlin's Stadion An der Alten Försterei will host the first-ever edition of the GGC Youngster Cup — an international youth tournament featuring the likes of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

Union's U17 team will test themselves against some of the best in Europe this summer when the competition starts on August 8. PSV Eindhoven, Brondby and Valencia will make up the international representatives for this summer's premiere. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt will arrive in Köpenick. There is also the opportunity for the Berlin derby against Hertha, if both teams progress.

The group stages of the GG8 Youngster Cup will take place on Saturday August 7 from 11am. The first day of matches will take place at the Werner-Seelenbinder Stadion of Lückenwalde. The following day's action, including the final and third-placed match, will be held at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei. All games will last for 40 minutes.

More information can be found here.

Full day tickets for the matches in Lückenwalde start at 10EUR standing and 15EUR seated. Children under the age of 12 can get in for free. Tickets for nine matches on Saturday and eight on Sunday are available online.

Day tickets for the matches at Werner Seelenbinder Stadium are available at a price* of €10 each (standing room) and €15 (seating), with children under 12 enjoying free admission. Tickets for the nine matches on Saturday and/or eight matches on Sunday are already available online. Tickets for games at the Alte Försterei are available via our online store. Seats will cost 7EUR, while children under 12 can get in for free. However, due to logistical reasons, a children's ticket must be booked.

The tournament organisers alongside Union are FSV Lückenwalde and the German Football Agency from Hamburg. Naming right partner GG8 cannot start this year with their own U17 team due to coronavirus, but they will be involved in the competition in the future. The tournament is presented by HYLO.
