First defeat at home to Wolfsburg
U19 Bundesliga:
1. FC Union Berlin's under 19s were unable to make a 2-1 lead count, going down 2-3 at home to VfL Wolfsburg, who hold on to their place at the top of the north/northeast Bundesliga.
A strong start from Andre Vilk's team put the unbeaten team into a commanding position. Asllani put the Köpenick side ahead after half an hour with Wolfsburg equalising the game on the stroke of the break.
Asllani made it 2-1 after 50 minutes.
But Wolfsburg pulled themselves back into the game in the last 20 minutes. The two goals arrived in quick succession around the 68th minute mark. A difficult situation for the young Union side, but a brave performance ended in defeat.
Union XI: Oppermann – Labroussis (71. Reinhardt), Rankic, Liebelt, Riecke – Czosnyka, Gencel, Dehl, Maciejewski, Aksakal (74. Travassos) – Asllani.
On Wednesday October 23, Union will meet Hertha BSC in the league away from home.
