Academy Coaches for 2024/25
Continuity on the Touchlines
The head coach of 1. FC Union Berlin's youth academy, André Hofschneider, has appointed the coaches for the youth academy for the forthcoming 2024/25 season.
U-19s
Coach Marco Grote and assistant coach Marie-Louise Eta will once again lead Union's oldest junior team in the coming season. The two UEFA Pro license holders already coached the U-19s together last year. Grote is already in his third season as coach of the A-youth.
U-17s
The well-established duo of coach André Vilk and assistant coach Hermann Andreev will remain in charge of the U-17s. Vilk has been active as a coach at the acadmey since 2018, coaching teams from the U-16s to the U-19s. Andreev is already entering his 14th season as a coach in the youth department of 1. FC Union Berlin.
"I'm pleased to have familiar faces and a high level of consistency in our team," said Hofschneider ahead of preparations for the new season. "We are entering our first full season at the Oberspree training center with specialists for their respective age groups and will do all we can to offer our players the best possible conditions for their development. I wish all players and coaches every success."
There has also been a focus on consistency in the other youth ranks. The following coaching teams have been appointed for the coming season (coaches, assistant coaches)
- U-16: Andreas Kerwin, Tim Fedler
- U-15: Daniel Schulz, Nick Wappler
- U-14: Emil Bunzel, Elvi Sharra
- U-13: Nicholas Kuberka, Martin Schmitt
- U-12: Joel Zachow, Holger Grond
